Sometimes in Family Law you can feel overwhelmed and emotional which is why you need an expert’s guidance. Hesitations

We often find clients are very nervous about changing lawyers once their family law matter has started. There is a misconception that no one will know your case better than your current family lawyer as they have been with you since the beginning.  We want to reassure you that your family law case and details are all in your file. When you change lawyers (upon your instruction) your file gets transferred to your new family lawyer. To make the process even easier we will often not charge you for reading your file so that we can be up to date with your case! We often like to remind clients that as well as your current family lawyer no one knows the facts in your case better than you and so if any information is ever needed, you yourself are the best source for obtaining that information.

Did you know..

Your family law file belongs to you – not the lawyer. Provided you have paid all your invoices with your previous lawyer they must release your file to you upon your request! Remember you only get one shot at doing your family law settlement, once final orders are made it's often too late.

3. You may need to come in for a consultation – We will charge you for the advice given in the consultation but not the perusal of your file and documents given to us by your previous lawyers (or you) so that we can get up to speed in your matter in time for the consultation.
